to distinguish the sound
of an F-16 from the sound
of a drone, the sound
of a drone from the sound
of a quadcopter.  He has
learned the difference
between a bullet
shot from an M-16
and one shot from a tank
or an Apache.  What
an education for a child
of six!  When he
should have been learning
to tell a triceratops
from a velociraptor,
a whale shark
from a hammerhead,
a sun conure
from a macaw.  When
he should have been learning
how the sound of a cello
differs from the sound
of a violin. Or the sound
a black bear makes, 
or a wild horse …
